The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA), along with AMD, AUO, Dell, Intel and Lenovo, conducted a panel discussion at Computex on June 2 on the future of the display industry and benefits of DisplayPort technology as a replacement for LVDS, VGA, and DVI. This panel session covered the importance of moving from analog display outputs to DisplayPort and how the move benefits consumers. Additionally, major OEMs shared their plans for the transition, which will be fully implemented by 2015. To show firsthand how DisplayPort works, there were demonstrations following the panel session and Q&A. The event was targeted at press and analysts. Craig Wiley, Vice Chairman, VESA, Parade Technologies was the moderator. Panelists included: AMD, AUO, Dell, Intel and Lenovo.
