VESA® to Present at SID Display Week 2011

Association to Discuss DisplayPort Standards and Future of Display Technology; Member Companies to Showcase DisplayPort Ecosystem

Los Angeles, CA, May 17, 2011 – The Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) will present DisplayPort standards and the future of display technology at this week’s Society for Information Display’s (SID) Display Week 2011. Two members of the Association’s Board of Directors, Alan Kobayashi of STMicroelectronics, and Craig Wiley from Parade Technologies, will lead a discussion on Interface Technologies for Displays, providing attendees with insight into the DisplayPort Standard, the Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) Standard and the Internal DisplayPort (iDP) Standard. VESA member companies will showcase products that make up the DisplayPort ecosystem on the conference’s exhibition floor.

The Interface Technologies for Display session will take place on Wednesday from 3:30 – 4:50 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) at the Los Angeles Convention Center in room 408B and will co-chaired by Dr. Richard McCartney of National Semiconductor and Heesub Lee of VESA member LG Display. Other session participants include: VESA member Silicon Works Co., Ltd. of South Korea who will present on improvements in intra-panel signaling for chip-on-glass applications; and VESA member THine Electronics, Inc. from Japan who will discuss intra-panel interface for large-sized and high-refresh-rate panels.

The annual SID Display Week brings together North America’s display engineers, manufacturers, researchers and other constituents from the electronic information display industry.
